Mark picked up his first saw at age nine and has spent his whole life woodworking. He apprenticed under master woodworkers and taught himself to make beautiful furniture using hand tools and timeless techniques. Mark loves what he does, having built his reputation as a craftsman while raising two daughters, Alisa and Katie, with his wife Toni in Southwest Michigan.
Kate knocked on the door of Mark's one-man shop and immediately knew she wanted to stay. After studying fine art at Kalamazoo College, she brings fresh and contemporary design ideas while learning traditional craftsmanship from Mark.
“I have been designing and building furniture for over 30 years. My design partner, Kate, brings a different perspective to old-world furniture traditions. She blends beautiful woods with simplicity and form to showcase her choices in figure and color. Kate is a woodworker with no boundaries and a true artist. I look forward to every new project with her.”
